Radical Notion is the brainchild of the award-winning screenwriting team of Alexei Mizin & Ryan van Dijk.

They are the creators and writers of Watching You, a gripping erotic thriller based on J.P. Pomare’s hit novel The Last Guests. The series is a Stan Original, produced by Lingo Pictures in association with ITV Studios.

Upon its release, Watching You was praised as “bold and boundary-pushing” and representing “something genuinely unique in the Australian television landscape”. It received a Best Lead Actress in Drama nomination at the 2026 AACTA Awards and has secured a global buyout from a premium VOD service which will launch the series internationally in 2026.

Alexei & Ryan are also writers on The Dispatcher for 60Forty Films and Apple TV, which is currently in post-production. In 2026, they are writing a feature based on Web, a classic John Wyndham sci-fi novel for Route 24 (UK) and Brouhaha (AU), as well as two premium thriller series, one an adaptation of a best-selling novel and one original, that are to be announced.

In 2018, Alexei and Ryan partnered with The Fleming Agency and sold original IP to Apple. Soon after, they became attached to a number of projects including a novel adaptation with Apple, a sci-fi series for Animal Logic/Truant, a prestige limited series based on the novel by the Miles Franklin-winning Andrew McGahan, and secured a development deal with the AMC Network in the USA. They have worked widely around Australia in writers rooms for See Saw Films, Matchbox Pictures, Goalpost Pictures, Aquarius Films, and have developed projects for Apple TV+, Disney and others.

Known for their intricate world-building and high-end concepts, they have been supported by VicScreen, Screen Queensland, Screen Australia, Scripted Ink and Australians in Film through several project and talent-based initiatives. They have won and been finalists for numerous awards by the Australian Writers Guild, including winning the Monte Miller Award at the 47th AWGIE Awards.
